  • >I’m going to have to try Abbots in the meantime, next time you get to the hptmaons take it from me, a hptmaons fan since I grew up near them: make sure you try The Lobster Roll (yes, that’s what the place is called) on Montauk highway. There are also two other much less known places that have rocking lobster roll sandwiches: one, is pretty much across the street from the lobster roll it is pretty much “just” a clam bar with a bunch of outdoor picnic tables on rt. 27, the other is a fish farm (literally) that’s tucked away from the typical tourist trail. It’s called, appropriately enough, The Fish Farm, and it’s on cranberry hole road, just off 27 in amagansett. not only can you get the most amazingly fresh fish, lobsters, lobster sandwiches and clams there, if you lived there you could stock up on fresh fish for dinner. there are some picnic tables slung outside the ramshackle building, but bring your appetite only, leave your expectation of ambiance at the proverbial door.
