April Showers: Rain Proof Hairstyles

Posted on   |   Comments (1)

Why spend all that time styling your hair, if the rain is just going to ruin all your hard work? Plan ahead to avoid any unpleasant surprises by checking the weather forecast before leaving the house. Expecting rain? Here are 4 styles to choose from to keep your hair looking perfectly styled, all day long!

The side french braid: To tame your hair and stay trendy, this braid is a perfect choice for long or mid-length hair. This style will stay in place even if the rain peeps out during the day. Apply Moroccanoil Frizz Control to damp hair and comb through. This side-swept braid is something of a cross between a waterfall braid and the french braid, Katniss Everdeen wore in The Hunger Games movie. Its a chic way to keep hair out of your face on rainy day.

The ponytail. Your perfectly wavy/straightened hair, pulled back into a ponytail, will withstand any meteorological hardship! Start by straightening your hair, blow-dried in advance, then spray Kérastase Gloss Appeal onto a comb and brush through. This will get rid of any frizz and keep your hair in place. For an ultra-trendy style, pull your hair into a low ponytail with a side-parting.

The ballerina bun. Let no hair out of place and you can be sure of surviving the rain in style. A strict, slick chignon is perfect. Smoothen your hair and pull it back into a high ponytail, now create your chignon. Roll the lengths around your hair band and secure in place with hair pins. Finish the look with Kérastase Gloss Appeal, for instant shine and topcoat spray.

The fishtail braid. Just like the basic braid, this braid turns out best if you pull hair back into a ponytail first, perfect during the rain. The difference between the two braids is that you are going to separate the ponytail into 2 strands instead of three. Apply Redken Rough Paste, which provides definition and manageability with flexible control, when working through the braid. Here's more on how to achieve the look: Fishtail Braid 101
